DoJ Consultation: The personal injury discount rate - taking account of inflation.
Overview
This consultation seeks views on whether or not there should be a change to the way inflation is to be allowed for by the Government Actuary when setting the personal injury discount rate for Northern Ireland.
Respondents are asked to answer the four consultation questions. The best way to respond to this consultation is online here at NIDirect Citizen Space. There is also a questionnaire on the Department’s website Consultations | Department of Justice which can be emailed to CivilJusticeandJudicialPolicyDivision@justice-ni.gov.uk
The consultation is open for ten weeks. The closing date for receipt of responses is 5.00pm on 28 January 2026. Please note that it is unlikely that we will be able to consider responses received after this date.
