Review of the Tenant Participation Strategy

Overview

The Tenant Participation Strategy 2015-2020 was published in January 2016 and explored how social landlords and tenants could work together to improve services. It set out what social landlords should do to give tenants the opportunity and choice to participate in the decisions that affect them and outlined how the government could help. It aimed to challenge all social housing landlords to be consistent and to increase the extent and effectiveness of their tenant participation services in Northern Ireland.

The strategy also encouraged and supported tenants to become involved in one or more of the participation options available to them and provided them with the opportunity to develop their skills so that they could progress to a higher level of participation if this is something that they wanted to do.

Why your views matter

This public consultation sets out proposals to be considered for a revised Tenant Participation Strategy in social housing and seeks your views. It is important that all interested parties are given the opportunity to engage with the Department and to provide essential feedback. This will ensure a comprehensive review process where all feedback is considered, to identify issues and potential solutions.

The information you provide in completing this survey will be controlled and processed in line with Data Protection Legislation by the Department for Communities (DfC) and its Communications Unit.
