It will help you to decide whether you want to take part and give informed consent. Please take time to read the following information carefully.
Survey Purpose
This research is being conducted by Lynne McAleer, Graduate Trainee Work Psychologist within the Department for Communities (DfC). Lynne is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Occupational Psychology through the University of Leicester.
The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between work-family conflict and wellbeing among employees who currently have unpaid caring responsibilities. You will be asked to complete brief questions about your experiences of work-family demands and how you feel about your mental wellbeing. The findings from this research may help improve understanding of wellbeing at work and support future workplace practices.
Am I eligible to participate in the study?
To participate in this study, you must work within Department for Communities, and currently have unpaid caring responsibilities, such as caring for a child, partner, parent, or another dependent. You must be aged 18 or over to participate. You do not need to be part of any specific team, grade, or network to take part.
If you do not meet the above criteria we thank you for reading about our research, but please do not proceed.
What does participation involve?
You will be asked to complete a short online survey exploring the relationship between work-family conflict and wellbeing among employees who have caring responsibilities. The survey asks about your experiences of balancing work and caring roles, as well as your general wellbeing, using two established and validated scales.
The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. No background knowledge is required, and you can complete at a time that suits you.
Do I have to take part?
No. Taking part is entirely voluntary. You are under no obligation to participate, and choosing not to take part will not affect you in any way. If you decide to take part, you can still stop the survey at any time by closing your browser window.
You may withdraw from the survey at any point up until you submit your answers, at which point your data will be combined with that of other participants and can no longer be retracted.
