Northern Ireland Curriculum Consultation

Closes 30 Sep 2026

About the survey

The survey has a number of different sections.

You will be first asked to confirm some matters regarding confidentiality and future contact, before providing some personal information on how you are responding.

The first substantive section relates to the aims, objectives and capabilities of the new curriculum.  This is a short section to allow you to comment on the proposed approach outlined in the Overview and Capabilities documents.

The main body of the survey relates to curriculum content and structure. You will be provided the opportunity to answer questions on each of the different subject areas.  Should you choose you can also answer questions on a specific Key Stage (Foundation Stage to Key Stage 3) or provide feedback on the curriculum as a whole.

You will be provided the opportunity to repeat this section, as many times (or as few) as you wish.  This is to allow you the opportunity to comment on more than one subject or different Key Stages.

When responding to questions, it is important that you have fully considered the Overview document and the relevant curriculum framework.

If you are responding in relation to a single Key Stage, you should also review the Key Stage immediately before and/or after the one you are responding to, as appropriate. This will show the progression of content including what precedes and follows, and can properly assess how learning is sequenced over time.

Finally, you will be given the opportunity for final comments.

You can save your responses and return at any time.  To view the overview document please click this link.  To view the capabilities document please click this link. To view the subject frameworks or Key Stage documents please click this link.
