New Victim and Witness Strategy 2025-2030 - Call for Views
Overview
The Department of Justice is seeking your views to inform the development of a new strategy to help improve the experiences of victims and witnesses when engaging with the criminal justice system. We want to do everything we can to ensure that all victims receive the support and information they need, when they need it, tailored to individual victim and witness needs.
Why your views matter
We would like to hear from members of the public, from community and voluntary sector organisations, and from anyone with an interest in and knowledge of the victim and witness experience. Importantly, we want to hear from those with experience of being a victim of or witness to crime. Your views will help us develop a new strategy for 2025 – 2030. The closing date for submitting views is 29th November 2024.
What will we do with your suggestions?
We are at the very beginning of developing our strategy and by sharing your thoughts, and by allowing us to hear and understand your views and experience, you will help us to inform the development of our formal consultation paper. A summary of the responses to the Call for Views engagement exercise will be made available on the Departmental websites in due course. This will not contain any information that would identify individual respondents.
We anticipate launching the consultation exercise in January 2025.
