PBNI Accommodation / Housing Survey 2025
Overview
The draft Programme for Government has housing as one of its nine priority areas. We know how much this issue impacts on PBNI, with accommodation for service users a critical factor in reducing reoffending and overall desistance. Addressing these accommodation challenges requires a coordinated approach among probation professionals, the NI Housing Executive and housing associations, support services, and other stakeholders.
There is a lack of data on the scale of the issue for PBNI, and hence we are asking for your input, based on your current caseload. This will help us to:
- Complete a Needs Assessment (Gather data on homelessness, housing instability, and other barriers impacting service users’ access to suitable accommodation; and to analyse the accommodation challenges facing service users within probation services).
- Develop Strategic Recommendations (formulate practical recommendations for policy and operational improvements that support service users in securing stable housing; and to identify opportunities for collaboration and integration with other services to enhance housing options for service users).
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
