Consultation on the Department of Justice (DoJ) Draft Section 75 Equality Action Plan 2025-2030 And Draft Disability Action Plan 2025-2030
Overview
Addressing inequalities within the justice system must be at the heart of reform and a priority across all parts of Government.
Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (the Act) requires public authorities, in carrying out their functions relating to Northern Ireland, to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity and regard to the desirability of promoting good relations across a range of categories outlined in the Act.
Section 49 of the Disability Discrimination (NI) Order 2006, (as amended by Article 5 of the Disability Discrimination (NI) Order 2006) requires the public authorities to promote positive attitudes towards people with disabilities and to encourage participation of people with disabilities in public life.
This consultation gives you an opportunity to tell us what you think should be included in our Equality Action Plan and Disability Action Plan for the next 5 years.
Your feedback is important in shaping our actions to help us address Section 75 inequalities within the justice system and do more for people with disabilities.
