Impact Assessments: Public Consultation on Revised Remuneration Rates (Civil, Family and Criminal) for Solicitors and Barristers
Overview
This consultation relates to the impact assessments for the Department of Justice proposals relating to revised remuneration rates (criminal, civil and family) for solicitors and barristers.
The policy proposals on the increased remuneration rates for criminal legally-aided work and civil legal services are running for an eight-week period. If you would like to respond on the proposed enhanced remuneration fees, we would encourage you to do so through Citizen Space, link: Public Consultation on Revised Remuneration Rates (Civil, Family and Criminal) for Solicitors and Barristers - NI Direct - Citizen Space
The closing date for views on the enhanced fees should be submitted by 11:59 pm on 27 March 2025.
As there is an obligation to consult for a period of 12 weeks on the impact assessments, the Department has taken the decision to consult separately on the policy and the impact assessments to limit delays on the policy proposals. The closing date for views on the impact assessments contained within is 11:59 pm on 24 April 2025.
