Overview

The Large Employer in Partnership with a Training Provider Award 2025 is designed to acknowledge excellence and originality between the Training Provider and Employer in the delivery of Apprenticeship training with a particular focus on commitment; development; and, sustainability.

Who can enter?

This category is open to Large Employers from all sectors using Training Providers contracted by the Department for the Economy to deliver their Apprenticeship programmes.

For the purposes of this competition, a Large Employer is one with 250 or more employees.

Who can submit an application?

Nominations must only be submitted by the Training Provider, on behalf of the partnership, there are questions for both on the form, but it is the Training Provider's responsibility to complete the nomination form.

If an Employer was the winner of the 2024 Large Employer in Partnership with a Training Provider Award, they are asked to not submit an application form for the same category this year. However DfE will welcome their nomination again for the equivalent 2026 category.

If a Training Provider was the winner of the 2024 Large Employer in Partnership with a Training Provider Award, they may still submit a nomination for the 2025 competition, however it must be with a different Employer from their previous winning entry.

A Training Provider can only submit a maximum of three nominations for each category, in this case, no more than three Large Employer in Partnership with a Training Provider Award nominations for this competition.

The Department for the Economy will carry out an initial eligibility check, followed by a sifting process, where only the top three nominations in each category will be shortlisted to become finalists in the competition.

What are the judges looking for?

The judges will base their decision on those Employers who can demonstrate how they are investing in the skills of their workforce with Apprentices. More information is provided in the relevant sections.

Nominations will be scored against the following three criteria: Commitment; Development; and, Sustainability.
