South West College (SWC) Robotics and Automation Part Time Academy 2024/26 Cohort 2 - Application Form
Overview
This Robotics and Automation Part Time Academy is supported by the Department for the Economy and delivered in partnership with the South West College (SWC), Dungannon. It will provide 12 individuals with the skills to take up Robotics and Automation roles with one of the supporting companies: AIC Armagh, Axon Dungannon, BMI Dungannon, BSK Dungannon, Grenier Dungannon, Keystone Lintels Cookstown, Mannock Derrylin, Mallaghan Dungannon, RM Dungannon, SFM Keady, Specdrum Dungannon, Strickland Dungannon.
The Robotics and Automation Academy consists of a fourteen week part time training course during which participants will study ETCAL Level 2 Preparing and Using Industrial Robots, and Level 2 Assembling and testing Fluid Systems.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Eligible applicants will be invited to an Information Session and Interview which will be held on Tuesday 12th & Wednesday 13th December at SWC Dungannon Campus.
TRAINING
Successful applicants must be able to attend fourteen weeks intensive training at SWC’s dedicated training venue in Dungannon starting Monday 6 January to Friday 11 April 2025.
Training will be every Monday and Wednesday 6.00pm to 9.00pm, and every Friday 2.00pm to 5.30pm.
- Participants will be paid a £52.50 weekly training allowance while in training
- Participants will be paid reasonable travel expenses covering their return journey from their place of residence to the college while in training.
- Participants may be eligible for assistance with childcare costs while in training.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Applicants must:
- be at least 18 years old by Monday 6 January 2025
- have a right to work and to undertake Assured Skills Training in the UK at the point of application and not be disqualified from doing either by reason of their immigration status. Proof of this will be required in order to progress to interview.
If living outside Northern Ireland – by accepting an offer of a place on this pre-employment training Academy, you are committing to attending training and pursuing a job opportunity with one of the supporting companies based in Northern Ireland.
