Menopause is the point in your life when you cease to menstruate and is marked at 12 months since your last period. While it is just one day in your life, menopause transition, also known as perimenopause, can last for many years. Symptoms associated with transition can occur for an extended period up to, and indeed beyond, menopause itself. It is a very individual experience, with some experiencing no symptoms and others having very bothersome symptoms.
