Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in Sport Survey
Overview
Sport NI is keen to hear from the Recognised governing bodies of sport regarding the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) of their organisations. We are seeking to develop robust baseline data that accurately reflects the sporting sector in the areas of Leadership, Workforce and High Performance from a Female, Disability and Ethnically Diverse Community perspective.
EDI are three core and interlinked elements designed to ensure that fairness, an ability to contribute and acceptance of difference are considered in all areas of life, including sport. With EDI being a prominent theme within sports culture, Sport NI is working with the sports sector to create a more inclusive and supportive sporting environment.
Sport NI’s Corporate Plan 2021-26 ‘The Power of Sport’ has four cornerstones - one of which relates specifically to EDI:
“Build a positive and inclusive sports culture in Northern Ireland”
Sport NI expects its partners, including funded organisations, to similarly reflect this aspiration. Sport NI are requesting that all funded and recognised governing bodies complete this survey which will further enable us to ensure that future programmes and funding consider the outcome of such surveys like this, ensuring equitable sporting opportunities for all.
