Harkin International Disability Summit - 7th & 8th June 2022, Belfast

Call for Expressions of Interest

For the first time, we invite leaders and activists at all levels globally, to develop and submit expressions of interest for items they want to deliver as part of this exciting two day Summit.

You bring the content, we will provide the platform.

Under a headline theme of ‘Disability: Shaping, Growing and Driving Economic Change’, we invite creative minds to come forward with content applications in the form of “Key Note Speakers”, “Presentations & Showcases”, “Panel Discussions”, and “Workshops” under the following sub-themes:

  • Nurturing the next generation of Disabled Innovators.
  • Say THE word!: Mainstreaming Disability in the Diversity and Inclusion Agenda.
  • How can Government get it right?
  • Innovating through a Pandemic: New Opportunities.
  • Still Taboo: Disability in Media, Communications and Corporate Imagery.
  • Data that drives change.

**Closing date for applications – 19th November 2021**

All content applications will be considered, and we are committed to achieving diversity and international representation within this Agenda. If you have an idea, no matter the scale, be creative and please come forward.

Instructions on completing this application:

  • Further detail on each sub-theme is provided on the next page to provide deeper definition of the purpose behind each, to help you choose the right theme.
  • If you wish to submit more than one content item for consideration, please complete and submit for each item separately.
  • This application can be saved and returned to complete at a later date before submission. You will be asked to provide an email address and a unique hyperlink will be sent to you to allow you to pick up where you left off.
  • Applications must be submitted in English, the official language of the Summit and please where possible be specific in your submission, to help the selection process.
  • Content delivered at the summit must also be in spoken / signed or synthesised English.
  • We aim to select and write to all applicants by 17th December 2021. Successful applicants will then be asked to confirm their intention to attend and deliver at the Summit in person. We will also select a reserve list of content to accommodate drop-outs.
