Voluntary/Community/Private Organisations – DE Emotional Health and Wellbeing Survey (February 2024)
Overview
The joint Department of Education (DE) and Department of Health Children & Young People's Emotional Health and Wellbeing in Education Framework was published in February 2021 along with an implementation plan.
The Framework sets out overarching guidelines to support those working in DE-funded educational settings (pre-school through to post-primary) to help them promote emotional wellbeing and strengthen self-esteem and resilience in children and young people. The Framework is research based, with a model that has a strong focus and value of promotion, prevention, and early intervention; through which educational settings, the Education Authority, Health and Community services can work in an integrated way to support the child or young person both within the educational setting and, where required, with wider family support services.
The Framework acknowledges the flexibility educational settings have around how learning / support is delivered to pupils, including the use of external providers, including the voluntary, community and private sector, to deliver a range of programmes and services.
Why your views matter
In order to inform future policy development on emotional health and wellbeing in education and next steps in terms of the Framework and how we target funding, the Department of Education wants to explore what is currently available to schools in terms of training / capacity building and direct services for children and young people.
A report summarising the analysis of responses will be prepared and made available on the DE website within 6 months of the end of the survey; no individual and / or organisation will be identified in this report.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, you may wish to have relevant information in relation to emotional health and wellbeing courses / training / services for educational settings at hand, before commencing.
For the purposes of this survey, school(s) includes pre-school settings, nursery schools, primary schools, prep schools, post-primary schools, special schools and EOTAS settings.
The survey will be open from 22/02/2024 to 21/03/2024.
Only one survey should be completed for each organisation.
