Impact of Covid-19 on Arts Organisations

Overview

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI) is the development and funding agency for the Arts in Northern Ireland. We distribute public money and National Lottery funds to develop and deliver a wide variety of arts projects, events and initiatives across Northern Ireland.

In July 2020, the Department for Communities announced a £4 million lifeline for the arts sector in Northern Ireland. An additional £33 million has subsequently been allocated to the NI Executive through the UK Government’s £1.57 billion rescue package for the UK’s arts, culture and heritage sectors.

The information gathered by this survey will inform ACNI about the impact of COVID-19 on Northern Ireland’s arts and creative sectors and will help us to determine where financial support is most urgently required.

This survey is a follow up to the survey ACNI released in early April. It is important for the organisations who completed the previous survey to also complete this survey as it will help us to better understand the ongoing financial challenges each organisation is facing; determine how you are adapting to deliver your services remotely; and what you are planning for the future.
