Overview

Talent management is a key theme cutting across a number of the actions of the NICS People Strategy.  As a first priority, we have commenced work to support line managers and staff to discuss career development in a meaningful way.

NICS Talent Management Toolkit

The guidance forms part of a NICS Talent Management Toolkit.  So far the toolkit incorporates draft versions of:

  1. Guide on Holding Career Development Discussions
  2. Talent Management learning and development pathway

The aim of the draft Guide on Holding Career Development Discussions is to assist line managers in having regular development-focused conversations with their staff in order to:

  • Establish where they are in their career ‘right now’
  • Better understand their motivation and engagement levels
  • Gain an insight to their aspirations
  • Discuss current ability and possible future potential
  • Discuss focused development

Please take a few minutes to complete the following 5 questions.  We value your feedback and will use it to inform a finalised draft of the guide.

Comments and responses are submitted anonymously.  However, there is a space at the end of the survey to record your name and email should you wish.
