Overview

This Part-Time Legal Administration Academy is supported by the Department for the Economy and delivered in partnership with Southern Regional College (SRC). It will provide 13 individuals with the skills to take up legal administration roles with one of the supporting companies: 

DND Law, Fisher & Fisher SolicitorsPatterson & Rocks, PC Solicitors, Rafferty & Co Solicitors, Rosemary Connolly Solicitors, Stephen Begley & Co Solicitors, Tara Walsh Solicitors.

The Legal Administration Academy consists of a ten-week part-time training course during which participants will qualify with an OCN NI Level 3 Certificate in Business Administration Skills.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Eligible applicants will be invited to an Information Session on Monday 21 October at 6:30pm and Interview which will be held Tuesday 22 October at SRC Newry Campus. 

TRAINING

Successful applicants must be able to attend ten-weeks part-time training Monday to Friday 9:30am – 1:30pm at SRC’s dedicated training venue in Newry starting Monday 04 November 2024 to Friday 24 January 2025. There will be a two-week break in training over the Christmas period 23 December 2024 to 3 January 2025.

  • Participants will be paid a £87.50 weekly training allowance while in training
  • Participants will be paid reasonable travel expenses covering their return journey from their place of residence to the college while in training.
  • Participants may be eligible for assistance with childcare costs while in training.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Applicants must:

  • demonstrate a strong ability in both written and spoken English to ensure they can effectively communicate in a legal administrative environment
  • demonstrate organisational skills, such as experience managing tasks, deadlines, or workflows
  • demonstrate practical knowledge of using Microsoft Word and Email
  • be at least 18 years old by Monday 04 November 2024
  • have a right to work and to undertake Assured Skills Training in the UK at the point of application and not be disqualified from doing either by reason of their immigration status. Proof of this will be required in order to progress to interview.

If living outside Northern Ireland – by accepting an offer of a place on this pre-employment training Academy, you are committing to attending  training and pursuing a job opportunity with one of the supporting companies based in Northern Ireland.
