Introduction

The Selective Travel Management and Jurys Inn Corporate Travel Academy, supported by the Department for Economy, is a six week training programme which will provide 18 participants with the skills, knowledge and qualifications required to take up Corporate Travel Consultant roles with either Selective Travel Management or Jurys Inn in Belfast.

Training

  • Six weeks intensive training at South Eastern Regional College, Lisburn Campus, Castle St, Lisburn BT27 4SU starting on Monday 30th September 2019.
  • Participants will be paid a £150 training allowance per week while in training.
  • Participants will be paid travel expenses covering their return journey from their place of residence to the college while in training.
  • Participants may be eligible for assistance with childcare costs while in training.
  • Participants will gain industry recognised qualifications

Potential Job Opportunities

  • The Academy syllabus has been specifically designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to take up Corporate Travel Consultant roles with either Selective Travel Management or Jurys Inn in Belfast
  • Following the six week training programme, all participants that successfully complete the training will be interviewed by Selective Travel Management and/or Jurys Inn
  • There is a potential job role available for every participant
  • Offers of employment will be conditional upon successful completion of the training, interview, and any further employment checks the companies may make.
  • The potential job roles attract a starting salary of 17k increasing to 22k with experience and on-target earnings
  • As a Corporate Travel Consultant you will deliver business travel needs for customers across all sectors including flights, accommodation, hospitality and events management.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You must be at least 18 years old by 30th September 2019
  • You must be currently eligible to work in the UK
  • You must have an HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent level 5 qualification in any discipline*
  • You must have a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • You must desire to pursue a career in tourism
  • NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

* Please note we cannot accept applications from applicants who are awaiting results and are yet to be awarded their qualification.  To be eligible you must currently hold the appropriate Level 5 qualification by the date the Academy commences.

Application Process

  • Complete the application form that follows in full by 12noon on Friday 16th August 2019.
  • Upload evidence of your qualifications and a copy of your CV when prompted.  If you fail to provide either of these documents or fail to answer any of the questions your application will not be accepted.
  • There is no requirement to complete an online test.
  • An information session will be held in SERC, Lisburn campus on Tuesday 27 August 2019 10.00am - 12.30pm
  • Interviews will be held in SERC, Lisburn campus week commencing Monday 2 September 2019.
  • Training for successful applicants will take place at South Eastern Regional College, Lisburn Campus, Castle St, Lisburn BT27 4SU commencing on 30th September 2019.
