The actions in the DfE Diversity Group's Action Plan are intended to promote awareness of diversity related issues among departmental staff. Promotional activity includes the publication of news articles and Fact Sheets on the departmental intranet, and other activities including displays and seminars. A schedule of such activilty is aligned with local, national or internationally recognised events - special days or weeks, such as World Mental Health Week or National Disability Awareness Day for example.  


Why We Are Consulting

The DfE Diversity Group strives to raise awareness of diversity-related issues among departmental staff. This is done through an annual Action Plan of promotional activities.  But are we promoting the right events? Could we focus our efforts on alternative activities that would be more effective in raising awareness of diversity?

We are asking all staff to spend a few minutes of their time to help us answer these questions?

The survey is anonymous and will take only a few minutes to complete. Please read the draft DfE Diversity Action Plan for 2019 - 2020, which can be found at the bottom of this page under the heading Related, before starting the survey . 

What Happens Next

The DfE Diversity Group will discuss the merits of all responses to the survey and amend the current draft Action Plan accordingly. A final version of the Action Plan will then be issued to all DfE staff for information.
