Marine Plan for Northern Ireland

Closed 15 Jun 2018

Opened 18 Apr 2018

This is a public consultation to seek your comments on the Marine Plan for Northern Ireland.

You are invited to express your views and opinions in relation to any of the policies within the Marine Plan.

You are also invited to express your views on the accompanying assessments.

You do not need to answer all the questions.

Why We Are Consulting

Across the UK, new systems of marine planning have been introduced.  The Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 (MCAA) and the Marine Act (Northern Ireland) 2013 (The Marine Act), require the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) as the Marine Plan Authority (MPA), to prepare marine plans, which will facilitate the sustainable development of the Northern Ireland marine area.

The Department is seeking your views on the Marine Plan and its accompanying assessments.

What Happens Next

A summary of responses will be posted online and we will notify those who responded to the consultation when this happens.  We will not acknowledge receipt of individual responses unless you indicate that you would like an acknowledgement.  We are unable to reply individually to the points you may raise as part of your reply.
