Farm Animal Disease Surveillance Questionnaire

Closed 27 Oct 2019

Opened 26 Aug 2019

Animal disease surveillance is important to us all, so that threats to animal health can be detected quickly and mitigated appropriately. To that end, the UK Surveillance Forum was established last year to oversee the UK's animal disease surveillance requirements and priorities and to co-ordinate delivery arrangements. Among other things, the Forum is exploring how we can make best use of the information arising from laboratory examination of diagnostic samples.

Why We Are Consulting

In order to help us shape our information - capture approaches for the future, we would like your assistance to give us a better understanding of how laboratory testing of samples from farmed animals is currently undertaken.

It is useful to have an idea of the scale of the farm animal work that you do, and your use of diagnostic testing. This exercise excludes post-mortem examination, which we are addressing in a separate work stream.

We would be grateful if you could complete this short questionnaire - one per practice. The collated findings will be anonymised and your practice will not be identified.

What Happens Next

We can assure you that the information you provide will be kept within government and not shared with any laboratory service provider.
